For newcomers, who do not know our network, euRhodEra, as a name, is a synthesis of an Ancient Hellenic word "rhoa", meaning pomegranate, a symbol of prosperity, and the English word "era". It also refers to Europe where the members' products are mainly offered.
euRhodEra's members and friends are welcome to make their suggestions for the improvement of this web-site.
A network is born
euRhodEra is a producers' network inspired by innovative and environmentally conscious agro-industrial methods and ways to produce agricultural and natural products of high quality, mainly pomegranates, grown in Mediterranean countries.
In countries like Cyprus, Egypt, Greece, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Malta, , Skopje, Spain, Tunisia, Turkey and other, wherever farmers are familiar with local pomegranate cultivars, euRhodEra may be their link, a tool to overcome diverse local situations.
Already rooted in several Mediterranean regions, using English as main working language, with respect to local cultural diversities, we aim to bring scientific and innovative know-how to local farmers and, this way, in parallel with business upgrade, to facilitate sustainable socio-economic development.
Environmentally conscious agro-business investment opportunities, applying appropriate technologies and based on well prepared contractual farming schemes are in the core of euRhodEra's vision.
Background
euRhodEra's core team has been formed by professionals working together since 2005 at local as well as international levels.
Beyond common and complementary professional interests, that brought us stick together, euRhodEra derives from mutual respect. We are proud of a context of excellent human relations, overcoming inter-cultural diversities. In euRhofEra's "space", members get to know ways to stay united and share innovative scientific knowledge, a major issue in all the network's projects.
The network intends to take its final legal form within 2009.
